That doesn't explain why the PS3 isn't found though.Ī trace log from when both the PS3 and PS4 was turned on while UMS was capturing log could be interesting though. Maybe you should check the network configuration for the PS4 to make sure there is no NAT configured there. Either I missed the media player accouncment or it didnt get mentioned on the stage. NAT should NOT be configured in the PS4, that would block network traffic to the PS4. Both are free media servers that you an install on a computer or laptop, load up your media, upload/create your library and then turn on the media app and it will show right up on your ps4. Either it's read the router configuration via UPnP, and the router should run NAT, or NAT is somehow configured in the PS4 itself. Ive added java and javaw to allow connections and ps3 media server to allow connections in windows firewall and under network sharing everything is set ok but just doesnt register. Ok, I checked again - sudo shouldnt be a problem. The only thing I can see that I find a little bit strange is that the PS4 lists NAT to NAT type 2. It's connected via ethernet, but just doesnt recognise in the ps3 media server. In the Advanced sharing settings menu, expand the drop-down menu associated with All Networks and click on Choose media streaming options (under Media Streaming ). I have no idea why this doesn't work, maybe restarting the PS4 while UMS is running could help? I take it the Windows firewall is still off. UMS also finds your router on 192.168.2.1. This is because it uses relative paths in its code. if you run it by typing /home/username/ps3ms/PMS.sh, you will get errors when playing your files, and if you click on the README tab or FAQ tab, they will be blank. It doesn't receive any further contact from 192.168.2.103 though. Make PS3 Media Server start on login PMS.sh HAS to be ran from the directory it is in. My problm is that I am unable to run PS3 Media Server (PMS) on Ubuntu 12.10. In the last log, UMS finds a device 192.168.2.103 which I assume is the PS4. This is my first time posting on the forums but I've tried everthing and cannot find an answer anywhere. The only thing I can find is that the IP of your server (192.168.2.101) mismatches with your screenshot (192.168.2.102), but I'm guessing that you have changed that since you took the screenshot.
